This page explains how David Josué Photography uses affiliate links and earns commissions, and our editorial standards for any product or service we recommend. We believe in transparency, so we want you to know exactly how some of the links on davidjosue.com work.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a partner website which referrer sent the visitor. When you click an affiliate link on our Site and then make a purchase on the partner’s site, we may receive a small commission from that partner. The commission is paid by the partner — not by you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our affiliate link or go to the partner’s site directly.
Why we use affiliate links
We share product recommendations because clients and readers ask us about the gear, books, software, planning tools, and services we trust. Affiliate links let us earn a small portion of the sale when you buy something we recommended, which helps support the time we spend creating photography guides, blog posts, location reviews, and educational content for couples and photographers.
Amazon Associates disclosure
davidjosue.com participates in the Amazon Associates Program in multiple regions. As required by each program’s Operating Agreement, we provide the following disclosures:
United States — Amazon.com
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
davidjosue.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Other regions
davidjosue.com may also participate in additional regional Amazon affiliate programs (Amazon UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, and other Amazon properties as applicable). Each regional program has its own required disclosure language; the regional disclosure applies whenever a link points to that region’s Amazon site. If you have a question about a specific regional program, contact us at dj+legal@davidjosue.com.
Trademarks
Amazon, Amazon.com, Amazon.com.mx, and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Prices and availability
Prices, product availability, shipping options, and product details on Amazon’s properties may change at any time without notice. The price you see on Amazon at the time you click is the price that applies to your purchase, not any price shown or implied on davidjosue.com. We are not responsible for any pricing or availability discrepancies between the time we publish a recommendation and the time you click the link.
Other affiliate programs
In addition to Amazon, davidjosue.com participates in affiliate programs with companies including, but not limited to:
- Photography retailer partnerships (camera bodies, lenses, lighting, printing services)
- Wedding industry vendor partnerships (planning software, venue platforms, gallery delivery tools)
- Educational platform partnerships (online photography courses, business tools)
- Travel and accommodation referral programs
Specific brand partnerships and retailer programs change over time. If you have a question about whether a particular link or recommendation is an affiliate link, contact us at dj@davidjosue.com and we will tell you.
Our editorial standards
We only recommend products, services, and resources we have personally used, tested, or vetted, OR that are recommended by photographers and vendors we trust. Earning a commission never determines whether we recommend something. If a product is bad, unreliable, overpriced for what it delivers, or not the right fit for the use case, we don’t link to it — affiliate program or not.
When a recommendation is conditional (“great for X, not for Y”), we say so. When we have a financial relationship with a brand beyond a standard affiliate program — such as sponsored content, ambassador roles, or paid partnerships — we disclose that relationship at the point where the brand is mentioned.
FTC compliance
This Affiliate Disclosure is provided in accordance with guidelines published by the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding endorsements and testimonials. The disclosure applies to all content on davidjosue.com, including blog posts, location guides, gear reviews, and email newsletters distributed by David Josué Photography.
Cookies and tracking
When you click an affiliate link, the partner may place a cookie on your browser to track that referral. This cookie typically expires within a window defined by the partner’s program (commonly 24 hours to 90 days). The cookie does not give us access to your personal information; it only tells the partner that you arrived via our referral so they can attribute any subsequent purchase. For details on how we and our service providers use cookies on davidjosue.com generally, see our Privacy Policy.
Your support matters
If you decide to use one of our affiliate links to buy something we recommended — thank you. It costs you nothing extra, and it helps us keep producing the kind of detailed Valle de Guadalupe wedding guides, behind-the-scenes posts, and photography education we love sharing. If you’d rather not use an affiliate link, you can always go directly to the retailer’s website — no hard feelings.
